DOCK TALK – May 2012

April Meeting

Well here it is May already and we are moving right along. What can I say about our last meeting UMMMMM not much seeing how I wasn’t there? Here is how I think it went down. Kevin collected the money from everyone there was some great conversations among the crowd. Mike started the meeting gave out some announcements and then Kevin gave a treasury report. Mike then goes and announces the past tournament winners. Well guess who wasn’t there to collect his check, so he continues. When finished Mike looks around to see if I the Tournament Director might have snuck is in the room late. Then seeing that I wasn’t present proceeds to give the tournament instruction for Pyramid. While Eddie and the rest of the board manage to get the pairings done. This is only my perspective of how thing went down hope to see you all soon. Next meeting will be
Thursday May 10th @ 7pm at El Torito. Come out early have some dinner.

Tournament Results

So April found us at Pyramid Lake this past month with 12 teams. The lake opened a little early for us this tournament and with the lake opening time changing to their summer hours we were on the water by roughly 6:15. It turned out to be a great day on the water we didn’t get the normal high winds that could plaque Pyramid. We had a strong breeze that at times where very pleasant. The bite seemed to be pretty much wide open with most everyone catching a 5 fish limit and at least catching their fair share of dinks. The weigh in took place @ Yellow Bar and when all said and done looked something like this, 3rd place Kevin M. and Jose G. with 10.66 lbs. 2nd place would fall to Ron L. and Ellis S. with 11.65 lbs. Top honors for this event goes to Mike I. and Tony F. with 5 fish weighing 13.26 lbs. and big fish of 3.75 lbs. Honorable mentions goes out to Walt and George with 2nd big fish of the day @ 2.95 lbs. Great job folks all total we had 53 fish brought to the scales weighting in @ 92.22 lbs.

FYI

Cachumapaloooza is here and it’s looking like another blow out hope that the majority of you all can come out and join in on the festivities. We have Apache sunrise campground starting Friday from 3pm till Sunday. Just a reminder this campground doesn’t have the cement pads and all the hook ups that Apache pines had this site is a little more like roughing it camping so please remember to bring
your long extension cords and if you have a power strip please bring it. More on this exciting trip to come at Thursday’s meeting. Please if you are going up early and aren’t going to be at the meeting CALL A BOARD MEMBER so that we can make sure everyone has a partner. If at all possible please car pool up with someone.
