Info for camping at the Lake Lopez Tournament

The following was sent my Mark P.

The general number for the Lake is (805) 788-2381, and then hit choice #3 for camping.

Bo reserved 12 sites in the Beaver Campground. The numbers are 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 16 , 17, 18, 20, 21, 22, & 23.

Anyone going up early, before the meeting, will need that info to try and get the same spot we’ll be using.

The sites are ours from Friday, at 2:00 pm to Sunday at 11:00 am. The cost for additional nights is $27 each.

I asked the ranger I spoke to whether they were very strict about the 11:00 checkout, especially on Sunday afternoon, and he said “As close to 11:00 as you can”. He said close counts.

Right now, all the sites he’s reserved are open for the Thurs before. The woman I spoke to, Nicole, said the campground sells out quickly, so anyone who wants to go up early needs to make a reservation, or they may be out of luck.

The lake opens for launching at 6:00, and they start inspections right then.

According to Jeff Jue, who just came back from there, the inspection is very thorough, including checking all tackle compartments, rod lockers, ropes, motor (up and down), livewell, bilge (including finger in the drain hole), and rubbing down the hull to feel for anything. They also check the bunks and trailer for weeds and grass. The carpet needs to be clean, too, or, at least, debris free.

If you have something on your hull or trailer, there is a $5 fee for a hot water decontamination.

I guess we are suppose to call the ranger to reserve spots.

What are the spot numbers and what is the number for the ranger?

Thanks
