Meetings-second Thursday of the month
Next meeting-February 11th at Hamburger Hamlet in Valencia
Club hits a muddy Castaic The first tournament of the 2005 CBC circuit took place January 16th under some incredibly tough conditions. Muddy,
debris filled water filled the entire lake and bites were very tough to come by. Finishing 1st were Jeff Jue and company with two fish for 4.53lbs.
Finishing in second were Mike Lander and Karl with one fish, Karl's 3.89 lb event big fish. Karl said his skill with a jig and the comfort of Mike's
new Skeeter boat made all the difference! Finishing third were Ralph and Marcia with one fish weighing 2.3lbs. Only seven fish were weighed in by
the club making it one of toughest tournaments in club history!
A big thanks to JD who got us a great deal on Pizza after the tournament!
Last meeting
The speaker at our January meeting was Keith Nighswonger, who offered advice on a variety of applications. A huge thanks to Keith and his
sponsors for the great product he donated for our monthly raffle.
Next meeting and tournament
The speaker at our next meeting will be club favorite Dan Warme. Our next tournament is scheduled for February 13th at Piru. At this point we are
not sure if the lake will be open due to flood damage to the access road. In the event that it is closed we may change the tournament to Pyramid. We
wish we could give more precise information but road conditions are out of our hands!
Other tournament action
Our very own Michael Stern hosted the first of seven Anglers Choice Castaic region team tournaments January 29th. Mike Lander has been red hot
in the new Skeeter and did not disappoint on the day as he teamed up with new club member Mike Forslund to take 2nd out of 26 teams. Great going
guys on your $770 payday! A big thanks to Roboworm and to our own Grant Powell for the great product they donated for the post-tournament
raffle. Thanks guys!
A special not for all executive board members, we will be meeting again at Stern's house this Monday night at 7PM. Remember, we always meet,
same place, same time, every month, the Monday before the regular club meeting!
A big thanks to Ron Licari for helping me cook burgers at the recent National Bass event at Castaic. And a big congratulations to our March speaker,
Ron Cervenka, and Sean James of JT Tackle for winning the event!
