Dateline: November 6th Castaic’s West Ramp

The 11th and last points tournament of the year took place on this cloudy, pleasant day as club members competed to see how far they could advance in the year end standings. A total of 13 teams showed up to complete the Castaic Bass Club’s 14th season.

Finishing 1st on this day was the team of Mark Poulson and Brian Sasahara with a five fish limit weighing 13.39lbs led by a 4.73lb kicker. Mark made some comment about being “net” boy throughout the day. Great job guys!

Finishing in second were Jeff Jue and Bo with four fish totaling 12.95lbs led by Jeff’s 5.49lb event big fish. I think I heard a rumor about Jeff catching that big fish on a trout plug that starts with an “H.” Jeff wanted to send along thanks to his sponsors, Fish Hedz and DC baits. Great job gentlemen!

Finishing in third were Mike Forslund and Mark O’Borsky with a limit weighing 11.91 lbs led by kicker of 3.31lbs. Mike made the comment that the fish he found during pre-fish were shallow and they hit wacky rigged worms during the tournament. This event was especially important as it helped push Mike into the Angler of the Year circle! Mike wanted to send along thanks to his sponsors, including Evinrude, Triton Boats, Aim Marine San Diego and Seaguar fishing line. Great job in your first year in the club Mike!

A couple of special notes, great job to Mike Lander on his second place finish. Mike is supported in his fishing by Maxima Line, St Croix Rods, Skeeter, and Team Davies tackle company, finished just 7 points behind Mr. Forslund. Great job Mr. Lander! Also of note was a very cool former member, Harlan Sacks, now of Cool, California, who dropped by to fish with

us. Great to see you Harlan! And we hope to see all of you at our awards banquet on Dec. 4th!
