Lake Pyramid
A great field of 15 teams go together on this date for the 5th event of the 2006 CBC circuit.
Finishing first were Mike Carpenter and the editor with a limit weighing 9.36lbs, with a 2.37lb
kicker. Mike did a great job of catching fish all day while I got a lot of practice with the net! It
was a great day on the water. Thanks Mike!
Taking a close second were Mike Iljin and new member Morgan with another limit going 8.93
lbs with an identical kicker of 2.37lbs. It was the first time we’ve seen Mike’s Champion boat
in one of our events and the fish sure liked it. Great job guys!
Finishing 3rd were Bo and Marcia with another limit weighing 8.14lbs. This high finish should
move Marcia higher in the standings and looks to get her closer to moving onto the pro ranks
of the FLW tour!
A huge thanks to Karl and J.D. for holding a very efficient weigh in at the end of the day, and
thanks to all of the members for their patience in waiting for everyone to show at the buoy
line prior to blastoff. We hope to see ya’ll June 11th at Castaic’s West Ramp!
Last meeting
A huge thanks to local guide Terry Nagel for his great speech at our last meeting. Terry was
generous enough to give away a free guided fishing trip, which was won in the raffle by Pug.
Thanks again Terry!
Future BBQ’s
It’s just about time to fire up the BBQ again at the West Ramp. Come on out this Sunday
afternoon and help out as we cook burgers for the National Bass event. As of this time I am
not sure of what time the BBQ will be fired up, so please call me if you plan on helping. And
of course, we’ll need help Friday afternoon, June 16th at the FOCL night event. Come on
out to help and take the load off the usual volunteers for these events, and get $3 off your
annual dues, something you get every time you volunteer at a club fundraiser.
The Bass Federation
There are several club members who currently fish these events, which are not affiliated with
FLW Outdoors. The big announcement at the recent Pyramid event was that the 2007 state
fish off will not be held 8 or 10 hours away at Clear Lake or the Delta...it will be held at
Castaic! I’m hoping this will persuade many of our club members to fish these events in
2006. By the way, Mike Lander finished 2nd at the Pyramid event, and Doug is currently
leading the Angler of the Year race!
2007 Club tournament schedule
A group of several members got together after the last meeting and hashed out the lake sites
for next season. I don’t have exact dates, just the months of the events, and here is the
schedule that was decided on:

March-Piru
April-Pyramid
May-Cachuma two day event
June-Castaic
July-Castaic
August-Lopez two day event
September-Castaic Challenge-non points
October-Pyramid
November-Castaic
Demember-Castaic (top six club fish-off, non points)
