Points race come down to a photo finish
A huge congratulations to our Angler of the Year, Mike Carpenter. Although we all know that
Mike is a great fisherman, he had to start out the year by watching Jeff Jue win the first three
club events of the year. Mike battled hard the rest of the year, finally edging out Jeff by a
mere eight points, by catching a limit at a super tough Pyramid this past month. Great job!
The club gathered again this past month for an extra top ten tournament at the West Ramp.
Mr. Iljin did a great job of setting up the tournament via our website as we had no regular club
meeting leading up to the event. A great thanks to Stern for helping me out with my netting
skills by catching a ton of jig fish! And a great job to Carpenter for catching the big fish on
an extremely windy day.
Please don’t forget, our annual awards banquet will be held this Sunday the 17th at El
Chaparral, 19132 Soledad Canyon Road in Santa Clarita, starting at 12 Noon. Like last
year, this will be a buffet style champagne brunch. A ton of award and merchandise donated
by our great sponsors will be given out as well. We hope to see you all there!
