Lake Piru
Solo fisherman dominate at Piru
Thirteen boats hit the stingy waters of Ventura Counties Lake Piru for the 6th event of the 2008 CBC circuit. This was a Fathers’ Day event and being that it was on the 15th, it was going to be a six hour event. Taking first on this tough day was Michael Stern, fishing solo, with three bass totaling 6lbs even. Nice job Mr. Stern on a very tough day. Taking 2nd were Mike Lander and Ken B. with two fish totaling 5.49 lbs. Included in their total was a fine bass of 4.3lbs, the big fish of the day. Great job gentlemen! Taking 3rd was another solo fisherman, Mike Carpenter, with two fish totaling 4.67lbs.
Upcoming events
Our next tournament will be out of Castaic’s West Ramp this Sunday, July 13th. With high gas prices non-boater fees have been raised, with this event coming in at a fee of $40. We will have more information at the meeting on weigh-in time as we will also be hosting a BBQ after the event for the Top Stick super team tournament. A huge thanks to all of those who have helping out with these BBQ’s, including the last Top Stick event on June 28th. We also have a night tournament BBQ coming up at the West ramp on the 18th, starting at about 5pm, and we will need volunteers for that event as well.
