Hi Everyone,

Did you have a great Halloween? Any big plans for Thanksgiving? My granddaughters are coming down from Sacramento, very exciting. Oh, you thought that this was a newsletter about the October tournament at Pyramid. Well if that was all I wrote about you would probably be done reading already. Let me sum it up; It as cold and windy when we got there and it was still cold and windy when we left. Of the 17 intrepid fisherpersons (the politically correct phase) in 9 boats, 6 caught 1or less keeper bass. Even the dinks were hard to find.

Having said that, three teams did catch fish. Victor Nardiello and David Sanchez had 4 nice fish with a winning weight of 6.7 pounds. Since neither has responded to my inquiry let’s just say that their technique is a secret for now. Mike Carpenter fishing alone had 2 keepers that tipped the scale at a whopping 4.53 pounds including the Big Fish for the tournament at 2.8 pounds. Mike caught his first fish at 10:00 on a reaction lure and his second at 12:00 on a crankbait.

In third place also with 2 fish were Roger Larocque and Nick Langer. Nick scored some monster dinks, some were even longer then the plastic worm used to catch them. Roger caught their 2 keepers drop shotting the grass line in 25 to 30 feet of water. He was making long casts with the direction of the wind. The first at about 6:30 came on a 4 1⁄2” warmouth curly tail and the second about 10:00 on a 5 1⁄2” oxblood curly tail. A note to Mike C., Roger says that if you are missing your boat keys they are inside the big fish that beat him by 1/3 of an ounce.

Nick Langer past along an interesting tip that I will share with you. During the tournament he ate 2 Nature Valley Granola Bars and drank 2 Gatorades (he did not say what flavor they were). Neither of these helped put fish in the boat. I am not sure how this helps but take it for what it is worth. I have been further advised by Roger that the actual best part about Lake Pyramid was eating Hot Dogs with the club after the tournament. I agree.

Please remember to bring your perpetual award plaque to the next meeting .

Once again we will be having our Holiday Party at El Chaparral in Canyon Country. The date is not set at this time. This year we have to limit attendance to the club member plus one guest.

Remember, if you have any tips or suggestions, please send them along to eyecooktoo@yahoo.com.
