Castaic Bass Club Tournament 9-12-04
This tournament was a regular paper weigh-in because we did not have a variance. It was determined at one time that we would weigh only fish over 18", however, there was a lot of concern that this was supposed to be fun tournament & club members would like to record all their fish over 13". There was a list of rules & regulations that was passed around for all the members to sign, this guaranteed a fair & productive tournament.
Here are some things that went wrong:
1) 3 boats failed to drop off their weigh slips.
2) 2 boats failed to sign weigh slips.
3) 1 boat used ounces instead of tenths.
4) Only 1 fish actually was weighed on club scale.
5) 1 fishes weight verified on Berkley by weigh master & Tourn. Director
6) 2 fish brought in live but not weighed on club scale.
7) There should be no reason for any boat to have to launch his or her boat by themselves
8) There were 3 boaters & 3 non boaters that drove to the lake by themselves. There should be every attempt to ride together
9) Some members have a difficult time getting on the finger docks.
10) A volunteer waited on the finger docks till 2:10 for boaters to bring in weigh slips.
The good news is that all Club Members got off the water OK & made it home
without incident, all launch fees were taken care of by members of FOCL &
those that had yearly passes.
