March 2006 Tournament Results
Club braves the cold at Casitas Dateline: March 12th, One of the most productive, but also toughest lakes in Southern California played host to nine teams in the 3rd tournament of the CBC circuit. Many anglers expected the conditions to be brutal as one of the coldest fronts in recent memory had roared into the area the previous day, with bone chilling temperatures that plunged the snow level to the 1500 foot level. As it turned out, the weather was better than expected, as so was the fishing. Finishing in first (again) was Jeff Jue, who teamed up with Mike Iljin to weigh in a huge limit totaling 23.98lbs, led by the 7.82lb event big fish. This was the third straight club event where Jeff has finished on top. Great job guys!! Finishing in second were Mike Munson and Marcia with another fine limit weighing 14.80lbs, led by a kicker of 4.45lbs. Rumor has it that it was so cold that the huge horseflies froze on the way out the Munson’s boat. Great job!! Finishing third were Mike Lander and Bo with another limit weighing 12.54lbs. Despite the cold conditions Lander said they were still able to locate and catch some “bed fish.” Great job Gentlemen! Much credit goes to new weighmaster Mark Poulson, who, along with help from Mr. Stern ran a very fast and efficient weigh in. Our next event will be help on April 23rd at Lake Pyramid, with a non-boater fee of $30. Please be advised that we are holding this event a week later than normal due to a conflict with Easter Sunday on our usual weekend. See ya’ll there!!
