July 2006 Tournament Results
Dateline: July 16th, 2006 A large field of 16 teams hit the lake on this day for the 7th tournament of the 2006 CBC circuit. Two factors had been consistent in the days leading up to the event: the ishing had been good, but the weather had been extremely hot and humid. Lots of water and gatorade were the order of the day as most of the field weighed in limits. Finishing first were Larry, J.D. and John with a fine limit weighing 15.81 lbs. Rumor has that JD was fishing one of Carpenter's secret baits that he stole out of his boat early in the morning when Mike was not looking. Either way, great job guys! And great job on conducting a fast and efficient weigh-in! Finishing second were Karl and the editor with another limit weighing 14.37lbs, led by the event big fish of 5.55lbs. We caught around two limits throughout the day and found consistent action in ski arm coves. Thanks for bringing the net this time Karl!! Taking a close third were Mike Stern and Linda Taylor Bell with another limit weighing 13.42lbs. The duo fished both coves and main lake walls throughout the day for their fish. Great job! A huge thanks to all of those who participated in this event as we only recorded one dead fish for the whole group! It was also great to see everyone gather down at McDonald's afterwards to swap fish stories, the camaradarie was great! Our next event will be a two day affair at Cachuma on August 19-20th. Please be advised that we have a campground with hookups reserved so nobody should have to reserve a hotel room this year, there will be room for everyone. See ya'll there!
